Starting This Blog: Musings on AI, Learning, and Conscious Effort
My reasons for starting a blog: navigating the age of AI, fostering independent thought, improving communication, and documenting my learning journey.

Why
I’m setting this blog up partly as a journal. AI makes many things easier: coding, automation, summaries, learning new skills. It’s a blessing AI is developing now, with promising outlooks ahead. But with all the upsides, I fear losing my ability to think for myself. I feel the urge to just hit ’tab’, ’tab’, ’tab’ and accept every autocompletion. I’m not sure if I agree with the autocompletion, but I was willing to trade for the convenience. Scary! It’s a laziness I need to fight. Like tearing down muscle to get bigger, or sticking to a running routine to prep for Marathon. Our bodies are built to save energy, but that won’t get us where we want to go. If resting in peace is the ultimate goal, there’s no point doing anything. So, I need some prove to myself that I did put in the conscious effort.
Another reason for this, is that I want to get better at communication. More specifically, I want to get better at “prompting”, both against LLM and human. Even a tiny LLM models nowadays contain unimaginable amount of knowledge, that means everyone can get an good educated answer if they have a well defined question. If answering becomes so cheap, asking the right questions will become the key to solve problems. And asking good questions comprise two key components IMO, including enough context and asking for clarification. It sort of works like a flying wheel. By providing enought context, I can get answer closer to what I want. And by asking for clarification, I can provide answer closer to what was desired. If we do this right, both LLM or human can having meaningful conversation within 3 shot prompting.
What
I consume a lot of information about AI – from technical papers on new model architectures and training techniques to news articles about industry trends, video explainers, and insightful Twitter threads. My interests range from large language models to ethical AI development and practical applications. While I sometimes share interesting finds on LinkedIn, the platform often feels geared towards professional achievements rather than personal learning journeys, which can feel a bit cringy for sharing raw thoughts or works-in-progress. So, this blog will be my space for that. Expect to see summaries of papers I found impactful, reflections on AI news, perhaps collections of useful links with my commentary (archiving my learning path, so to speak), and maybe even attempts at explaining complex concepts simply. I want this to be a place for genuine exploration, not just polished results.
How
Just like training for a marathon, consistency comes from enjoyment. My goal isn’t just to write, but to enjoy the process of thinking, articulating, and sharing. How? By focusing on topics that genuinely excite me, setting a sustainable rhythm (maybe one post a week?), and hopefully, engaging with any readers who might find this interesting. As I was writing this, I had a thought about YouTubers constantly asking for engagement – ‘Like, Subscribe, hit the bell!’ It struck me that maybe they genuinely mean it. As social creatures, perhaps we’re wired to thrive on positive connection and feedback. Sharing publicly feels vulnerable, though. Putting thoughts out there invites commentary, and not all of it might be positive. Am I ready to deal with potential criticism or misunderstanding? I’m not entirely sure, but the desire to document my learning and connect outweighs the fear for now. I plan to moderate comments and focus on constructive interaction. This blog is primarily for my own growth, but if others find value or want to discuss these topics, that would make the effort even more rewarding.
Conclusion
So, this is the start.(How interesting to start conclusion section saying it’s the start!) A space carved out for deliberate thought in an age of automation, a commitment to clearer communication, and a public log of my ongoing learning journey, particularly around AI. It’s an experiment in progress. Whether you’re here for the AI insights, the reflections on learning, or just to see how this unfolds, I’m glad to have you along for the ride. Let’s see where this conscious effort takes us.
